Pursuant to AS 38.05.945

Pursuant to AS 38.05.083, the Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW) has made a Preliminary Decision to offer a 10-year aquatic farm lease to Seldovia Seaweed. The proposed lease would authorize the maintenance of a submerged longline culture system for the commercial growth and harvest of sea lettuce (Ulvaria obscura), sugar kelp (Saccharina latissima), and bull kelp (Nereocystis luetkeana). The proposed lease consists of one parcel that is 4.59 acres more or less, of state-owned tide and submerged lands located near the southwest end of Kachemak Bay, within Seldovia Bay, approximately 1 mile south of Seldovia, Alaska. The location of the project area is further described as being within SW1/4 of Section 6 and NW1/4 of Section 7, Township 9 South, Range 14 West, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

11:59PM on MARCH 17, 2026. All comments must be received in writing at the mailing address or by email by the Public Notice end date.
