NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

RFP No. 25262026 – Statewide Snow Avalanche Atlas 

The Contractor shall provide professional services that may include data acquisition and analysis, GIS modeling and map production, aerial and satellite imagery review, field verification of avalanche paths, interviews and coordination with regional avalanche personnel, development of updated avalanche path polygons based off 300 year return periods, calculation and assignment of Avalanche Hazard Index (AHI) values, and compilation of all required atlas attributes.

A complete description of services is contained in the RFP Package.  Estimated period for performance of the Agreement is approximately April 2026 to December 2027.  Cost of these professional services is expected to be in the range of 200,000 to 250,000.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) Package will be available January 30, 2026 and may be obtained in person from the DOT&PF plans room at 4111 Aviation Avenue in Anchorage, AK. Persons residing outside the Municipality may obtain an RFP Package through the mail by telephoning (907) 269-0408.

Proposals must conform to the RFP and be submitted with specified forms.  Submittals must be received no later than February 20, 2026, prior to 4:00 p.m. prevailing time.
