The University of Alaska is seeking bids for the University Park Nanook Child Care project. Bids  will be received electronically by the University of Alaska on the Bid Express website at https://www.bidexpress.com/businesses/43192/home until Thursday, 2:00 p.m., February 19, 2026, at which time bids will be opened and read aloud at the office of the Division of Design and Construction located in the Lola Tilly Building at 1850 Tanana Loop, Fairbanks, Alaska.  Bid results will be made available to the public on the Bid Express website after evaluation.

The Work consists of renovating the south wing of the University of Alaska Troth Yeddha’ Campus University Park Building in Fairbanks, Alaska for a child care center. Renovation will include hazardous material abatement, replacing the roof, replacing finishes, floor plan modifications, and upgrades to the sprinkler, fire alarm, seismic, security, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Work also includes construction of an outdoor play area with other exterior improvements. Additive Alternates are present for the renovation of the gymnasium and additional classrooms.

Bidders are advised that the University of Alaska has a procedure for accepting alternate products or systems prior to bid opening.  Acceptance of substitutions after award is limited.  See Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions.

Funding for this project is available. The project is federally funded and subject to the provisions of the Build America, Buy America Act.

Bid documents for this project are available for viewing and downloading at the Bid Express website address provided in this Invitation.  Bid documents may also be viewed by appointment only at the office of Division of Design and Construction, University of Alaska Fairbanks, 1850 Tanana Loop, Lola Tilly Building, Troth Yeddha’ Campus, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Bidders must register through the website to be notified of addenda.  The bidder is responsible for periodically checking the site for addenda or additional information for the project.

A pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the project site, University Park Building, Room 102, 1000 University Ave, Fairbanks, Alaska. Parking is limited and bidders are advised to purchase a day parking pass at one of the campus kiosks prior to the time and date of the pre-bid site visit.  More information can be found at www.uaf.edu/parking.
