The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water, Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) has received a request to reroute and extend a previously proposed utility easement across state-owned, DNR-managed lands that was first distributed for public and agency notice on May 22, 2023.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The amendment will affect a previously approved easement route across State of Alaska lands for construction, survey, operation and maintenance of a buried fiber optic cable connecting Dillingham, Aleknagik, Ekwok and Levelock.
The reroute and extension will add a combined area of approximately 24,634.2 feet in length and 30 feet in width for a total area of 16.97 acres, more or less, to the previously approved route. Please see the attachment.
If approved, the final location, area and dimension of the requested easement will be determined by an as-built survey and may differ from that described above. Nothing herein implies the establishment of an easement on lands not managed by DNR-DMLW.

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at Southcentral Regional Land Office at 550 West 7th Avenue Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501 on or before the date noted above.
