Notice of Utility Petition Filing

The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that ENSTAR Natural Gas Company, LLC (ENSTAR) filed a petition for an advance determination of decisional prudence regarding its proposed natural gas storage project in the Kenai Loop. The project involves acquiring and converting the depleted Upper Tyonek Pool gas reservoir into a storage facility with an initial capacity of approximately 25 Bcf (billion cubic feet) at an estimated cost of $240 million. ENSTAR also filed a motion for expedited consideration seeking a Commission decision within 45 days. Docket U-26-003 was opened to address this matter.
