Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF)
PROJECT NAME: ADL 422673
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Nenana River Bridge located at MP 276 of the Parks Highway.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Within the SW ¼ of Section 14, Township 8 South, Range 9 West, Fairbanks Meridian, as shown on the attached site diagram.
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant has requested a public access easement measuring approximately 2.1 acres The purpose of the project is to replace the Nenana River Bridge at MP 276 of the Parks Highway, Rex Crossing (#0216), with a variable depth steel girder bridge while maintaining both the existing alignment and low chord (bottom of the girder section) to improve safety and extend the life of the bridge. Project would include drainage improvements, road reconstruction, roadside hardware, and utilities.
REQUESTED TERM: Indefinitely or until no longer needed.
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: February 20, 2026.
The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
