Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received a Land Use Permit application for the following:
APPLICANT: Fairbanks North Star Borough
PROJECT NAME: LAS 35779
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately 20 miles northwest of Fairbanks, on Old Murphy Dome Road, near the intersection of Spinach Creek Road and Old Murphy Dome Road.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 35 of Township 2 North, Range 3 West, Fairbanks Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Fairbanks North Star Borough has requested to modify the slope of the roadside terrain off the north shoulder of Old Murphy Dome Road, near its intersection with Spinach Creek, to help prevent snow drifting on the roadway. Snow accumulation on the roadway can be minimized by contouring the landscape adjacent to the road to encourage passive snow drift mitigation. This activity can be performed during scheduled road improvement activities and includes spreading soil from the road’s northern ditch.
