January 7, 2026

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF)

PROJECT NAME: LAS 35764

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The proposed site is located at the confluence of Wiseman Creek and the middle fork of the Koyukuk River, near the Wiseman Creek Bridge, in Wiseman, AK.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 24 of Township 30 North, Range 12 West, Fairbanks Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW) has received a land use permit application from the Alaska DOT&PF requesting to dredge the area where Wiseman Creek meets the middle fork of the Koyukuk River in Wiseman, AK. The applicant requests to excavate a trench from Wiseman Creek Bridge to the Koyukuk River to create a channel 15' wide, 3' deep and 265' long. Excavated material would be piled up along the Southern embankment. Material travels down Wiseman Creek and is deposited where the creek meets the river.
