Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Located east of the Talkeetna Mountains and about 4 miles west of the northern portion of Lake Louise at the top of a small hill.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Township 8 North, Range 8 West, Section 19, Copper River Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant Jim West is requesting a 5-year land-use permit for a seasonal hunting camp on state lands near Lake Louise for the months of August through September. The camp will generally consist of 1 wall tent with collapsible wood framework and 2-3 spike tents. The permit would also allow for the use of two additional short-term portable camps in support of the base camp.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: September 1, 2026
End: August 31, 2031

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
