Alaska Board of Forestry Teleconference Meeting Tuesday, February 10, at 8 a.m.

The public is invited to participate in a Board of Forestry teleconference meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to discuss statewide forestry issues. The public comment period will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The nine-member Board of Forestry advises the Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources on forestry regulations, provides a forum for those interested in forestry to discuss and seek resolution to issues concerning Alaska’s forest resources, and makes recommendations to the Governor and Legislature on research needs.Topics on the Board's agenda for this meeting include: 

Forestry and forest practices-related legislation and budget updates.
State and federal forest management issues, including reports on Mental Health Trust and U.S. Forest Service forestry activity, Division of Forestry & Fire Protection timber sales, and other timber related initiatives.
Wood Energy Development Task Group update.
Alaska Forest Association update.  

Other forestry matters may be included on the agenda. The meeting is intended to comply with the requirements of AS 41.17.047(b) and (d). The meeting will be accessible via Teams as a teleconference and webinar. Public comment is scheduled for 1:00pm.
