State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks & Outdoor Recreation – Proposed Park Improvement Project, Bird Creek Campground

State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation has applied for Land and Water Conservation Fund grant assistance from the National Park Service to fund the Bird Creek Campground Improvements project located within the Chugach State Park, approximately 20 miles south of Anchorage.

The purpose of the project is to make improvements to the Bird Creek Campground.

The proposed improvements include the following elements:

  1. Construct a potable water system for the host site.
  2. Run electrical services to the host site.
  3. Decommission the water and wastewater services at the campground overflow host site; and
  4. Replace site signage and entrance at the campground overflow.

Comments concerning the proposed actions will be accepted from the affected public; local, state and federal agencies; and other interested parties in order to consider and evaluate alternative and the environmental impacts of the proposed action.

Comments should be made in writing and emailed to DNR.LWCFGrants@alaska.gov within 15 days of publication of this notice.
