State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation has applied for Land and Water Conservation Fund grant assistance from the National Park Service to fund the Halibut Point Recreation Site Improvement project located 4 miles north of downtown Sitka.
The purpose of the project is to make improvements to the Halibut Point State Recreation Site facility.
The proposed improvements include the following elements:
- Demolish an existing vaulted toilet and
- Install a new concrete vaulted toilet.
Comments concerning the proposed actions will be accepted from the affected public; local, state and federal agencies; and other interested parties in order to consider and evaluate alternative and the environmental impacts of the proposed action.
Comments should be made in writing and emailed to DNR.LWCFGrants@alaska.gov within 15 days of publication of this notice.
