Nanushuk Processing Facility
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve Oil Search (Alaska), LLC’s application for Air Quality Control Minor Permit No. AQ1683MSS01 Rev. 2 for the Nanushuk Processing Facility.

Activity: Oil Search (Alaska), LLC applied for a minor permit under 18 AAC 50.508(6) for revising and rescinding the terms and conditions of Air Quality Minor Permit No. AQ1683MSS01 Rev. 1. Additionally, this project triggered the ambient demonstration requirements under 18 AAC 50.540(k)(3)(C). Per 18 AAC 50.540(k)(3)(C), “an application for a minor permit revising or rescinding terms or conditions of a Title I permit under 18 AAC 50.508(6) must include the effect of revising or revoking the permit term or condition on the underlying ambient demonstration, if any.”
Emissions: The stationary source’s potential annual emissions did not change with this permit revision. The potential annual emissions of regulated air pollutants at the stationary source will not exceed: 236.72 tons of Nitrogen Oxides, 233.79 tons of Carbon Monoxide, 30.09 tons of Particulate Matter, 180.02 tons of Sulfur Dioxide, 152.30 tons of Volatile Organic Compounds, 354,365.77 tons of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent emissions, and 4.77 tons of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP), with highest individual HAP (formaldehyde) estimated at 2.05 tons. The total annual potential emissions of regulated air pollutants, other than greenhouse gases, are 832.92 tons.
ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for this project under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.
