The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas (Division) received a Land Use Permit application on December 15, 2025, from ASRC Energy Services Alaska, Inc. (ACES) requesting to conduct remediation activities at the Burglin 33-1 well site. The proposed project will be adjudicated under AS 38.05 and 11 AAC 96. The Division provides public notice and an opportunity to comment.

Project Description:
The project is proposed to start in January of 2026 and would end in September of 2026. Winter activities would consist of constructing a four-mile ice road from Deadhorse to the Burglin 33-1 well pad, plugging and abandoning the orphaned well Burglin 33-1, and conducting clean-up and remediation of the reserve pit, flare pit, and gravel pad. Summer activities would include collecting environmental samplings of the site.
