LAS 35755 Alaska Earth Sciences, Inc Land Use Permit for Coldfoot Ambler Rd Storage

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Alaska Earth Sciences, Inc

PROJECT NAME: LAS 35755

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The proposed site is located east of milepost 175 off the Dalton Highway, behind Coldfoot camp.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Fairbanks Meridian, Township 28 North, Range 12 West, Section 15

REQUESTED ACTIVITY:
The Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW) received a Land Use Permit (LUP) application from Alaska Earth Sciences, Inc for temporary storage near Coldfoot Camp. The temporary storage would be used as a staging and operations site to facilitate logistics and personnel support associated with the Ambler Road project. The storage area would include temporary housing for workers in modular and tent-style facilities, two 6,000 gallon tanks of Jet A and Diesel fuel storage, temporary parking for vehicles, temporary parking and refueling of helicopters, and equipment storage. Human waste would be incinerated; all waste would be transferred and disposed of in Fairbanks.

REQUESTED TERM: Five-year term

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before the date noted above.
