The proposed easement is located at the northern end of the former Tok Airport, near milepost 122.5 of the Tok Cutoff and directly southeast of its intersection with the Tetlin Trail.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Within Government Lot 1, Section 36, Township 18 North, Range 12 East, Copper River Meridian, approximately as shown on the attached map.
REQUESTED ACTIVITY:
The Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW) received an application for a public utility easement from Tanana Chiefs Conference, for the construction of a power and communications cable on state-owned land. The purpose of the proposed public utility easement is to provide power and telecommunications services to Tok and Tanacross communities. Tanana Chiefs Conference is constructing a photovoltaic array adjacent to state land and is requesting to install an Alaska Power & Telephone Company (AP&T) power pole and burial run to connect the array to AP&T’s permitted utility line within the Tok Cutoff right-of-way. The applicant requested an easement approximately 210 feet long by approximately 30 feet wide, comprising 0.2 acres, more or less.
REQUESTED TERM: Until no longer needed.
