The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities proposes to issue a Boundary Crossing Permit at Port Lions Airport to the City of Port Lions whose property lies adjacent to the boundary of Port Lions Airport under ADA-09677 (Item No. 2). The permit will be issued in accordance with Alaska Administrative Code 17 AAC 45.285. Annual fee: $2,903.13 (exclusive use area annual rental fee of $1,738.13, 11,824 sq. ft. x $0.147 per sq. ft.) plus (commercial use boundary crossing annual rental fee $1,165.00) and any other associated fees. Authorized uses: Non-aeronautical – To facilitate access to a gravel pit from the northern boundary of airport property by constructing an access trail for heavy equipment to Airport Road to replace water mains and service lines within the City of Port Lions.
Written comments must be received by 4:30 p.m., November 7, 2025, after which the Department will determine whether or not to execute the Boundary Crossing Permit. The Department’s decision will be sent only to persons who submit written comment or objection to the Department, at the address and by the date and time specified in this notice, and include their return address.
