The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), through its Division of Data Modernization & Innovation (DMI), is soliciting bids to expand and enhance the Pi-LIT Smart Sequential Road Flares and PI-Link safety device distribution program. This initiative supports the procurement, coordination, and delivery of additional units and services to bolster incident response capabilities statewide.
The project will continue to equip first responders with sequential LED flare kits, improving safety and efficiency during emergency operations. Specifically, the contract will cover the distribution of 200 new safety devices with PI-Link connectivity and the renewal of cellular service for 336 high-use units currently in operation.
As there is only one manufacturer of this specialized equipment, the selected contractor will be responsible for ensuring timely execution, providing technical support, monitoring system performance, and coordinating with participating agencies—functions that exceed current in-house capacity. These efforts will sustain and expand the program’s alignment with its original safety objectives while maximizing the impact of federal investment.
The Bid Opening is scheduled for 2:00 PM (Alaska Time) October 16, 2025 at DOT/PF Headquarters, 3132 Channel Drive, Room 350 in Juneau, Alaska 99801.
