Notice of Intent to Issue Upland Mining Leases in the Lisburn Mining District

  NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE

UPLAND MINING LEASES

 

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water hereby gives notice that the locator listed in this notice has recorded a mining location on land in which the mineral holds the mineral estate. The locators have applied with the state to convert mining claims into two upland leases under AS 38.05.205(a).

 

Holder Teck American Incorporated of 501 North Riverpoint Blvd. Suite 300,

Spokane, WA 99202, will be converting the following 68 mining claims; ADL 725319-71 (AQ 1031-1053), ADL 725374-83 (AQ 1056-60), and  ADL 725386-90 (AQ 1068-72) into upland mining lease, ADL 422595, located in  Township 32 North, 19 West sections 1,2,3 10, 11, 12 , 13, 14,15, 22, 23, 24,25, 26,35, 36, the east half of sections 27 and east half of section 34, in the Kateel meridian Containing, approximately 10,880 acres

 

And will be converting the following 29 mining claims; ADL 725391-395 (AQ 1073-77), ADL 725398-402(AQ 1080-84), ADL 725403-407 (AQ 1085-89), ADL 725410-418 (AQ 1092-1100), ADL 725424-428 (AQ 1106-10) in upland mining lease ADL 422596 located at

Township 31 North, Range 19 West Sections 1,2, 3E, 10E, 11, 12, 13, northwestern quarter of section 14, eastern half of section 14, 13, and northern half of section 24 in the Kateel meridian of 29 mining claims containing approximately 4,640 acres

 

Prior to issuing a mining lease, the state is required to issue a newspaper public notice of the leasing action and determine if there are any conflicting mineral right interests. Unless the Division of Mining, Land and Water is notified of conflicting mineral right interests, a lease will be issued to the locator below, 30 days or more after the date of this notice.


Mining lessees have the exclusive right of possession and extraction of locatable minerals subject to AS 38.05.185 - 38.05.275. Leases are issued for the term it takes to mine and are renewable if necessary. The lease will require mandatory rent and production royalty requirements. Once the lease is issued, the lessee must obtain all required permits before exploration or mining can occur.
