Subject to AS 35.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:
State-owned submerged land in Thorne Bay, approximately 55.6733°N 132.4856°W.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Approximately 1.5 acres of state-owned submerged land in SW1/4 NE1/4 Section 35, Township 71 South, Range 84 East, Copper River Meridian.
REQUESTED ACTIVITY:
Seals Family Alaskan Lodge (applicant) is requesting a five-year Land Use Permit to allow for year-round moorage of a commercial use lodge and personal use float home on state-owned submerged land in Thorne Bay. The lodge consists of one dock (12 feet by 100 feet, totaling 1,200 square feet) and four floats (lodge float: 40 feet by 55 feet; cabin floats: 55 feet by 40 feet and 45 feet by 40 feet; and generator float: 15 feet by 15 feet). The lodge floats are a total of 6,425 square feet with 3,198 square feet of living space and one 144 square foot shed to house the generator. The personal use float home is 50 feet by 40 feet, totaling 2,000 square feet. All the floats and docks as described above are secured to the tide, submerged, and uplands by five rock bolts and six shore ties. In addition, there is one log breakwater secured to the uplands by one shore tie and to the submerged land by one anchor of unknown weight.

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a discussion is made on this activity.
