NOTICE OF WATER RIGHT APPLICATION
LAS 35590
Pursuant to AS 46.15.133 and 11 AAC 93.080, notice is hereby given that Savant Alaska LLC, 188 W Northern Lights Blvd, Suite 510, Anchorage, Alaska 99503, applied for a permit to appropriate water on June 3, 2025. The application is for water and ice withdrawals for oil and gas exploration, development, operational, and maintenance projects (including construction of ice roads/ice pads, dust abatement, hydro-testing, drilling activities, and camp usage/supply) in the Badami Unit.
Amount of Water: The daily withdrawal of liquid water is limited to 1,000,000 gallons, with a combined seasonal limit of ice and water not to exceed 10,430,000 gallons from November through June.
Withdrawal Location: Unnamed Lake 8 (aka Lake B-8; Exxon Lake 18) in Sections 8, 9, 16, 17 of Township 9 North, Range 20 East, Umiat Meridian.
Water Use Area: Badami Unit
The withdrawals in this application are currently authorized under Temporary Water Use Authorization (TWUA) A2023-177, which will be amended to reflect any permit to appropriate issued under this review.
Per AS 46.15.133(a), within 15 days of publication or service of notice, persons may file with the director written objections. Comments or objections must be made in writing by email to lesli.schick@alaska.gov or by mail to Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Water Resources Section, 550 W 7th Ave, Suite 1020, Anchorage, Alaska 99501-3562 by 5:00 p.m. October 10, 2025. Pursuant to 11 AAC 93.080(6), “The public comment period set by AS 46.15.133 (c) begins the first day the newspaper publication appears, or the first day of posting, or upon receipt of the notice as evidenced by the certified mail receipt, date stamp, or other evidence of actual service.”
