Nanushuk Operations Pad
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve Oil Search (Alaska), LLC’s application for Air Quality Control Operating Permit AQ1661TVP01 for the Nanushuk Operations Pad, under Alaska Statutes 46.14 and regulation 18 AAC 50.

Application: Oil Search (Alaska), LLC applied for an initial operating permit for the Nanushuk Operations Pad. ADEC received the application on November 8, 2023. This public notice is for the draft operating permit only.
Activity: The Nanushuk Operations Pad (NOP) is the location for the Pikka Development’s permanent camps and offices for personnel, as well as maintenance, and fuel storage. As such, the NOP includes permanent construction generators, field office generators, boilers, non-road engines, and ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) and gasoline tank farms.
Emissions: The potential annual emissions of regulated air pollutants at the stationary source will not exceed: 239.29 tons of Nitrogen Oxides, 104.71 tons of Carbon Monoxide, 11.47 tons of Particulate Matter, 0.94 tons of Sulfur Dioxide, 14.94 tons of Volatile Organic Compounds, and 1.16 tons of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP), with highest individual HAP (Benzene) estimated at 0.47 tons. The potential annual emissions for Greenhouse Gases are estimated at 96,474 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. The total annual potential emissions of regulated air pollutants, other than greenhouse gases, are 371.35 tons.
ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for the Nanushuk Operations Pad under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.
