Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) has received an application for the following public utility easement:

PROJECT NAME: ADL 234613
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Glennallen, Glenn Highway, Mile Post 186
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 23 of Township 4 North, Range 2 West, Copper Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant has requested approval of a public utility easement over state-owned, DMLW managed lands, approximately 405 feet in length and 20 feet in width, for a total of approximately 0.186 acres. The purpose of this proposed easement is to authorize installation of below grade fiber optic cable, as part of Copper Valley Telecom Cooperative’s Fiber to the Home project. The fiber optic cable will originate inside the permitted Department of Transportation & Public Facilities Right-of-Way (ROW) and proceed north along the west side of ASLS 79-18 Tract 2B. The cable will then turn west crossing into ASLS 79-18 Tract 2A and use the existing utility easement on Tract 2A until reaching the ROW for Snowshoe Street. The construction method will be by plow or bore.
REQUESTED TERM: 25 years

Members of the public and interested parties are invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 West 7th Avenue, Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK, 99501 on or before the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
