The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) and City of Whittier are hosting open houses for the Whittier Moves Transportation Master Plan (Whittier Moves). This plan will identify future transportation investments that support land use and movement patterns by coordinating transportation planning and project development within and around the City of Whittier. Whittier Moves will serve as a tool for securing discretionary grant funding, supporting other project development opportunities, and assisting the City of Whittier in the update of their Comprehensive Master Plan.
We invite you to attend one of the following open houses to share feedback on transportation issues and needs, and explore potential solutions:
- Anchorage Open House
Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM
5015 Business Park Boulevard, Suite 1200
Anchorage, AK 99503
- Whittier Open House
Friday, September 12, 2025, from 4:00 – 5:45 PM
Whittier Community School Gym

A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Whittier City Offices (660 Whittier Street), prior to the Whittier open house. The TAC includes representatives from local government, state and federal agencies, regional organizations, and private-sector operators who will:
- Provide local and sector-specific insights across all modes of transportation
- Help define project scoring criteria for future funding and prioritization
- Offer timely feedback on plan content and actions needed to advance key projects
The public is welcome to observe the TAC meeting in-person.
Visit www.WhittierMoves.com to learn more about the plan, submit a comment, or join our contact list for updates. A summary of the TAC meeting and open house, along with the TAC meeting recording, will be posted to the website.
