Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Chugach Electric Association, Inc. (Chugach) filed TA577-8, its revenue requirement study and cost of service study based on the test year ended June 30, 2025. Chugach proposes an across-the-board interim and refundable rate increase of 4.66 percent for retail rates and decrease of 3.56 percent for wholesale rates, applicable to the current energy and demand charges, effective October 2, 2025. Chugach proposes revised permanent rates based on the outcome of the proposed revenue requirement study, cost of service study, and other minor rate design changes. Chugach also proposes a new economic development rate (EDR) for commercial customers with new or incremental manufacturing loads with a maximum demand between 1,000 and 5,000 kW within two years of service commencement. Under the EDR, all charges will be the same as the applicable GS Large rate, with a declining demand charge discount, which begins at 20 percent in the first contract year and declines in equal increments annually until the final year. Other requirements apply.
