Naknek Class II MSWLF Expansion, Naknek, AK

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to approve a lateral expansion at the Naknek Landfill permitted Solid Waste Disposal facility (SW2A004-25).

APPLICANT INFORMATION:

Landowner: Bristol Bay Borough

Landfill Operator: Riel Anderson

Location: Seward Meridian, Section 36, Township 16S, Range 46W

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Naknek Class II Municipal Solid Waste Landfill currently accepts municipal solid waste and construction and demolition debris. Naknek is proposing a lateral expansion of the landfill. The proposed expansion will result in an additional 8-acre waste disposal area.

ADEC is seeking comment regarding the proposed project only. Notice is given that any person interested may present written comments relevant to the proposed Permit to ADEC. Written comments will be included in the record if received before 11:59 p.m. on 8/18/2025.
