LOWER KUSKOKWIM SCHOOL DISTRICT WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
IN NAPAKIAK, ALASKA, WITH VILLAGE SAFE WATER

Notice of Availability of an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the installation of a wastewater treatment module in Napakiak, Alaska under the management of the Lower Kuskokwim School District (LKSD), the Department of Education and Early Development (DEED), and The State of Alaska Village Safe Water (VSW).
The FONSI includes the following construction activities:
•A 2500-gallon-per-day septic/treatment trailer will be purchased and installed at the new lagoon site southwest of the LKSD school.
•Heaters within the septic treatment trailer will also be installed.

FUNDING AGENCY: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
ACTION: Finding Of No Significant Impact
SUMMARY: This notice advises the public that an EA and FONSI for the proposed LKSD wastewater treatment module in Napakiak, Alaska, are available for public review. The public review period will last 30 days from the date of Public Notification.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Village Safe Water has prepared an EA for the installation of a wastewater treatment module for the City of Napakiak, Alaska. The purpose of the project is to provide wastewater treatment to support the newly built Lower Kusokwim School District K-12 Memorial School until the community builds a new lagoon.
Based on the EA, Village Safe Water has determined that the proposed action will not have a significant impact on the quality of the human environment.
