Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: RAW TV LTD
PROJECT NAME: LAS 35609
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The proposed site is located approximately five miles from the community of Central, in the Boulder Creek area.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 6, Township 8 North, Range 14 East, Fairbanks Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW) has received a land use permit application from RAW TV LTD for a camp in support of a commercial filming project on an active placer mine (ADL 627002). The proposed camp would be constructed on an existing gravel pad and would include five wall tents for sleeping quarters, a kitchen/dining tent, a meeting tent, one wash tent with dry toilets and a shower block, a storage tent and a generator. The total square footage of the nine soft-sided structures is 3,960. The camp would be utilized for approximately 28 days between July and September 2025 and would accommodate approximately 15 staff members. Construction and demobilization of the camp would be completed by Alaska Minerals, Inc.
The applicant proposes to store gasoline, diesel and propane for camp use on site. Fuel drums will have secondary spill containment, fuel diapers will also be on hand and “duck ponds” utilized whenever transferring fuel from containers into equipment or vehicles. Water for staff use will be transported to the camp via water tanker truck. Graywater will be processed through a double-bag filtration system before being surfaced discharged per ADEC standards. PACTO dry-flush toilets will be used for human waste; other waste, including trash, will be incinerated on site or hauled to the local landfill for disposal or recycling.
