NOTICE OF WATER RIGHT APPLICATION

Pursuant to AS 46.15.133 and 11 AAC 93.080, notice is hereby given that the North Slope Borough - City of Anaktuvuk Pass, P.O. Box 1050, Utqiavik, Alaska 99723 applied for a permit to appropriate water on April 26, 2022 (Priority Date). The application proposes the following:
The withdrawal of up to 36,000 gallons per day (gpd) from January 1st through December 31st each year from a drilled well (Well #3), 154 feet in depth and located in Lot 2, Section 17, Township 15 South, Range 2 East, Umiat Meridian, Second Judicial District, State of Alaska as recorded on Plat 96-3 in the Barrow Recording District.
The proposed purpose of use is a public water supply for the City of Anaktuvuk Pass.
The proposed place of use is the City of Anaktuvuk Pass. Said property being located within Sections 17, 18 and 19, Township 15 South, Range 2 East, Umiat Meridian, Second Judicial District, State of Alaska.
Per AS 46.15.133 (a), within 15 days of publication or service of notice, persons may file with the director written objections. Comments or objections must be made in writing to the above listed address or to tina.mayer@alaska.gov by 5:00 p.m. within 15 days of receipt of this notice. Objections must include the objector’s name and address, and any facts tending to show that the rights of the objector or the public interest would be adversely affected by the proposed appropriation.
