CHUGACH REGIONAL RESOURCES COMMISSION

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: CHUGACH REGIONAL RESOURCES COMMISSION

PROJECT NAME: LAS 34750

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Located within the tidelands of Prince William Sound, just off the west coast of Applegate Island

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 11, Township 6 North, Range 7 East, Seward Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Seasonal placement and maintenance of (1) additional kelp line consisting of a mooring buoy, a seed string segment, an anchor line, and a 30 lbs. anchor

*Note: 3 locations are being removed from the previous issuance of this permit, leaving 2 of the original 5 sites. This notice is ONLY for one new site being added to the permit near Applegate Island.*

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: September 1, 2025
End: August 31, 2027

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: June 4, 2025

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
