Public access easements are managed by DNR under AS 38 pursuant to 11 AAC 96.010(a)(1)(B), which provides the authority for the appropriate development of a public easement reserved to DNR.

APPLICANT: ASRC Consulting & Environmental, LLC

PROJECT NAME: ADL 234596

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Chickaloon, Alaska

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Sections 26 and 27 of Township 20 North, Range 5 East, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

CORRECTED REQUESTED DEVELOPMENT: The applicant has requested to develop within an existing and valid state held RS 2477 easement (RST 564) along East Chickaloon Road. This RS 2477 is subject to a 100-foot width, 50 feet either side of centerline, for transportation purposes. The purpose of this development is to provide adequate access to safely mobilize equipment due to soft shoulders and a steep drop on the south side, to plug and abandon the Chickaloon #1 orphan oil & gas well that is located at a private residence. 

COMMENTS: Comments should address the impact of the proposed development on current or future access uses of this existing easement. Comments must be in writing for consideration.

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: EXTENDED until January 2, 2025

The public is invited to comment on this activity.
