Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) has received an application for the following public utility easement:

APPLICANT: Matanuska Electric Association, Inc.

PROJECT NAME: ADL 234641

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Trapper Creek, AK

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 9 of Township 24 North, Range 5 West, Seward Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant has requested approval of a public utility easement over state-owned, DMLW managed lands approximately 294 feet in length and 30 feet in width, for a total of 0.2025 acres, more or less. The purpose of the proposed easement is to install an overhead 14.4 kV single-phase primary (residential) electric line that will extend from an existing power pole. The easement, if approved, may differ from that described herein.

REQUESTED TERM: Indefinite

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: June 13, 2025

Members of the public and interested parties are invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 West 7th Avenue, Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK, 99501 on or before the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity.  The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
