Cook Inlet Vessel Plan Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan

Sufficient for Public Review and Public Notice

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) received a major amendment application package for the Cook Inlet Vessel Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan on April 9, 2025. The application package was submitted for evaluation as required by the state's oil and hazardous substances pollution control regulations, 18 AAC 75.  

The application package was determined "sufficient for review" as defined in 18 AAC 75.990 on April 11, 2025 and will be reviewed in accordance with the procedures outlined in 18 AAC 75.455. Additional information may be requested, based on ADEC's technical review and comments received during the public comment period. The review schedule is designated as follows:

Start of public comment period (Day One):
April 21, 2025

End of public comment period (Day 30); public comments and 
requests for additional information due by 11:59 p.m.:
May 21, 2025

Pursuant to 18 AAC 75.455(b)(5), this is the single public notice of the application.

The plan is available at ADEC’s website, https://dec.alaska.gov/Applications/SPAR/PublicMVC/IPP/CPlansUnderReview, for public review.
