Golden Heart Waste Management Medical Waste Treatment Facility, Fairbanks, AK
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to issue Solid Waste Disposal Permit No. SWZA010-30, to Golden Heart Waste Management, to operate a Medical Waste Treatment Facility.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The proposed medical waste treatment facility will accept up to 120,000 gallons annually of regulated medical waste at its Fairbanks, AK location. The facility plans to treat waste from hospitals, clinics, veterinary offices, dental offices, and care homes using a steam sterilization process via an autoclave. The treatment facility is located in an indoor space of 2,400 square feet and all regulated medical untreated waste will be stored inside. Treated regulated medical waste will be transported and disposed of at the Fairbanks North Star Borough Landfill.

ADEC is seeking comment regarding the proposed project only. Notice is given that any person interested may present written comments relevant to the proposed Permit to ADEC. Written comments will be included in the record if received before 11:59 p.m. on May 9, 2025.
