Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Homer Electric Association, Inc. (HEA), filed TA479-32, its Mutual Aid/Emergency Service Memorandum of Agreement (Agreement) with Chugach Electric Association, Inc. (Chugach). Under the Agreement, in the event of an interruption of gas supply, HEA or Chugach may request from each other electric energy or natural gas on an emergency basis to meet their respective native load requirements. The providing utility will be reimbursed for the incremental costs incurred in providing service under the Agreement. Any natural gas used to provide service under the Agreement will be reimbursed through either in-kind delivery of the exact quantity of gas used, or through delivery of an amount of electric energy equivalent to the amount of natural gas used, calculated based on the providing utility’s incremental heat rate at the time of service. For each transaction under the Agreement, the utilities will execute a transaction confirmation which states the date(s), delivery points, prices, and terms and conditions of service, and will file it with the Commission as soon as reasonably possible, but in no event later than 14 days after execution.
