Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Alaska Electric Light & Power Company (AEL&P) filed TA532-1, requesting approval of Amendment No. 3 to the 2016 Snettisham Hydroelectric Project Hatchery Electric Service Agreement (HESA) between AEL&P and the State of Alaska, Department of Fish and Game. AEL&P proposes to decrease the electric rate for the hatchery service from $0.0399 to $0.0306 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), effective May 1, 2025.
The new rate is a result of a decrease in the base rate cost per kWh, which is calculated as the average of the previous three years’ base rate cost, and a decrease in the COPA component. The base rate is decreasing from $0.0397 to $0.0351 per kWh, and the COPA component is decreasing from $0.0002 to ($0.0045). The combination of these changes results in the rate decrease.
The Commission may approve a rate or classification which varies from that proposed.
