Meeting of the Alaska State Board of Education and Early Development

The Alaska State Board of Education and Early Development will hold a special board meeting on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, via audio conference. Public participation for the meeting will be through the digital platform Zoom. The board meeting will begin at 12:0 9.m. The board will take public comment on agenda and non-agenda items starting at approximately 12:05 9.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Oral comment is limited to three minutes per person and five minutes per group. Public comment may be made for this meeting during this time only, in person or by joining the online Zoom meeting at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84695395591   or by calling 1-253-215-8782 (toll free) and selecting *9 on your phone’s keypad (Meeting ID 846 9539 5591). When public comment is over, the meeting will continue to be broadcast at the above website.

The purpose of the meeting is to hold a work session, business meeting and to hear public comment.

Topics at the work session include Legislative Updates, Budget Report – Operating and Capital Budget, Cell Phone Resolution, a Resolution to establish a Green to Teach Pathway, Stratton Library Bid Review, regulations for public comment including Retired Teacher: National Board Certification, Teacher Certification Content Area Exams, and The Annual Report to the Legislature.

Topics at the business meeting will include approval for Green to Teach Resolution, Stratton Library Bid Review, and regulation consideration for public comment including the Retired Teacher: National Board Certification, and Teacher Certification Content Area Exams, Approve Annual Report to the Legislature, and approve the October 10, 2024 and the December 05, 2024, meeting minutes. The board will hear the Commissioner’s report, and there will be and executive session.

The board may amend its published agenda. Agenda times are estimates only, and the board may consider agenda items out of order without amending its agenda. The board also reserves the right to adjourn at a time later than estimated on the published agenda.
