The Southern, Northern and Joint Southeast Regional Planning Teams (RPTs) will hold their annual fall meetings concurrently at the above date and time. RPTs are a valuable part of the State of Alaska’s salmon fishery enhancement program. RPTs are advisory to the commissioner of Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G). RPTs are composed of six members, three are ADF&G staff appointed by the commissioner and three are fishery representatives appointed by the regional aquaculture association. In Southeast Alaska, the Joint RPT is made up of nine members, three are ADF&G staff appointed by the commissioner, three fishery representatives appointed by Northern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (NSRAA) and three fishery representatives appointed by Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (SSRAA). RPT meetings are open to the public and public participation is encouraged.

The Northern Southeast RPT currently has no action items. The Southern RPT currently has no action items. The Joint RPT will discuss Board of Fisheries proposals and plans for moving forward with broodstock sanctuaries. Discussions include SSRAA broodstock plans, Tongass Land Management Plan renewal, Fisheries Assessment Tax, Chapter 40 regulations update, and possibly other topics concerning hatchery-produced salmon.
