RFP 2025-0500-0126 APK and SJM Facility Security Services Located in Juneau and Sitka Alaska
The Department of Education and Early Development, Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums is soliciting uniformed unarmed security services to protect the State, State employees, agency customers, building visitors, State property, equipment and facility from unauthorized access, loss, theft, personal injury, and vandalism at the Andrew P. Kashevaroff (APK) Building in Juneau. In addition, on-call services will be needed (up to approx. 10 hours per month) at the Sheldon Jackson Museum in Sitka, Alaska. Security Officers at both locations must be trained, experienced, and physically and mentally able to react effectively in enforcing order, curbing violence, protecting visitors and employees from bodily injury or harassment, and preventing theft and damage of property.
The mission of the Division of Libraries, Archives, and Museums is to promote lifelong learning for all Alaskans through Alaska’s diverse history, art, and culture. The Museum and Library collects, preserve, and provide access to objects, laws, and papers from the Territory and State. The State Archives preserves permanently valuable government records that document Alaska's history and makes these records available to its clients in a secure, professional, and responsible manner. The sections all house objects and documents that are priceless in their cultural and political importance. 53 souls work at LAM to meet the division’s mission.
