Body of Notice: Request for Information (RFI)
The Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, Division of Facilities Services, is requesting information on available office and other type space to lease for the Department of Commerce, Community, & Economic Development located in Fairbanks, Alaska.
The State of Alaska (State) is seeking letters of interest from contractors, developers, or lessors, interested in providing approximately 4,600 usable square feet of office and circulation space. The office space must be located within the City of Fairbanks.
The space shall include the following features:
- One (1) Private Office (approx. 200 square feet)
- Twenty (20) workstations (cubicle, approx. 1,392 square feet total)
- Open, collaborative environment to maximize space usage
- Fifteen (15) workstations (approx. 80 square feet)
- Five (5) workstations (approx. 96 square feet)
- One (1) Waiting Area (approx. 110 square feet)
- One (1) Conference Room (approx. 425 square feet)
- One (1) Storage Room (approx. 200 square feet)
- One (1) Printer/Fax/Copy Area (approx. 75 square feet)
- One (1) Employee Break Room (approx. 425 square feet)
- One (1) Centralized File Room (approx. 480 square feet)
- Twenty-One (21) Employee Parking Spaces with energized head-bolt heaters, covered parking preferred.
The State will consider a long-term lease (approximately 5 years) with a projected occupancy date of April 1, 2025, or sooner.
The State is considering all alternative space where economically advantageous. The State will use the information it receives in response to this advertisement as the basis to develop a cost/benefit analysis and to determine whether to compete this office lease space requirement or take other appropriate action.
If you are interested in providing office space to the State in Fairbanks, Alaska, respond in writing no later than September 16, 2024. Responses must indicate compliance with the items below and include a name, contact information, and building location/address:
- Size of proposed building and floorplan
- Location of building (physical address and legal description)
- Number of parking spaces available (to accommodate employees and visitors)
- Estimated date building could be ready for State occupancy
This RFI does not obligate the State to issue an RFP, award a contract or pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a response to this RFI. Do not submit price/costs with your response, a Notice of Award for space will not be made as a direct result of this RFI. Contact information will be kept on file for any potential future related Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitations under AS 36.30, Alaska State Procurement Code.

Responses to this RFI will be held confidential until the state determines that no solicitation is necessary or, if the state determines a solicitation is necessary, responses to this RFI will not become public until award(s) resulting from the solicitation are made.
