DEC has prepared an APDES preliminary draft general permit for the reissuance of the AKG003000 Hydrostatic and Aquifer Pump Testing activities. The Preliminary Draft General permit and associated documents are available to the applicant for a 10-day review. Following the close of the 10-day review period, DEC will prepare a draft permit and fact sheet for a formal 30-day public review period. Public comments will be accepted during the formal 30-day public review period. You can access the documents on DEC’s Wastewater Discharge Authorization Program webpage at https://dec.alaska.gov/water/wastewater.

Preliminary Draft General Permit Review Period:
Start Date: August 6, 2024 End Date: August 20, 2024 11:59 pm AKDT
Permit No: AKG003000
Discharge Project and Location: Applicants with discharges associated with hydrostatic testing of tanks, pipelines, and similar containers, including water line flushing; and aquifer pump testing (in support of mineral mining development and exploration) to discharge to waters of the U.S. or waters of the State or lands, only in accordance with effluent limitations, monitoring requirements, and other conditions set forth in the statewide general permit.
Administrative Record: The APDES preliminary draft permit, fact sheet, and associated documents are available for public review at the DEC offices located in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau. Please contact the office of your choice to arrange for hard copies of the documents to be available for your review.
