Recreational Trails Program - Accepting Applications for FY2025!

The Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation (DPOR) is excited to announce application round for  the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) in FY2025! Application package for this funding opportunity is posted on our website at http://dnr.alaska.gov/parks/grants/trails.htm.

Dates of Proposal: This application round will stay open from August 1st, 2024 through October 31st, 2024.

The DPOR administers Alaska's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) RTP grant. The DPOR offers this competitive, reimbursable, matching trail grant for maintaining public recreational trails and related facilities, and for safety and educational projects.

The RTP grant program provides up to 90% reimbursement of eligible costs for the entire project cost; grantees are responsible for 10% of the entire project cost.  Eligible applicants include non-profit, educational institutions, state government, local government, federal government and native corporations or tribal governments.

Public notices must be posted by September 30, 2024, and copies of notices with listings must be submitted to DPOR at Parks.RTPGrantApp@alaska.gov by this date.
