PURPOSE OF THE IRFP
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, is soliciting proposals for a qualified entity to obtain a concession contract to operate and manage the King Mountain State Recreation Site. The King Mountain Recreation Site is located on the Glenn Highway at Milepost 76.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
In order for offers to be considered responsive offerors must meet these minimum prior experience requirements:
- Previous experience operating small businesses, campgrounds, or similar outdoor recreation facilities whether public or private.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Alaska State Park campgrounds.
- Demonstrated capacity (financial and staff capacity) to operate at a remote location.
The Contractor shall be responsible for park management, including janitorial and facility maintenance and repairs, resource protection, public services, site supervision, and fee collection.
In return for operating and maintaining the park, the Contractor will be allowed to collect fees for King Mountain State Recreation Site - overnight camping, daily parking, and firewood.
