CONSTRUCTION INVITATION TO BIDS (ITB’s)

 

Sealed bids in single copy for furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment, and performing all work on Project No. 0093003/SFHWY00414; JNU Waydelich Creek: Upper & Lower Wall Repairs, described herein, will be received until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time July 25, 2024, at the Construction Contracts Office, 1st Floor, 6860 Glacier Highway, Juneau, Alaska.

 

This Federally funded project will construct permanent repairs (PR) to the upper & lower portion of the Waydelich Creek retaining wall.

 

The upper wall was damaged by the December 2020 Storm in the Southcoast Region of Alaska for DDIR AK2021-1 JNS003. Repairs may include, but are not limited to, asphalt, embankment, geotextile, concrete, steel reinforcement, riprap, drainage, roadside hardware, and utilities. Phase code is T02015.

 

The lower wall has years of deterioration & requires additional work to bring the full wall up to seismic code & extend the service life another 40 years. This portion of the project has PM-funding. Phase code is T02A15..

 

The Engineer's Estimate is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. All work shall be completed by June 30, 2025. This is a Race Neutral project as defined in Section 120 of the Specifications.

Hard copies of these documents are still available in hard copy for a non-refundable fee of $100/set from the Southeast Regional Contracts, 6860 Glacier Highway, Juneau, Alaska, 99801-7999. Please be advised that this company does not provide overnight service to or from Juneau.  Allow at least 2 to 3 business days for receipt of expedited packages.

 

Bid results may not be available until after 4:00 PM on the bid opening day.  The results can be obtained on the Internet at: https://www.bidx.com/ak/lettings.

 

Bidding Documents are available for inspection at the office of the Regional Department of Transportation and Public Facilities offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau.
