Meeting of the Alaska State Board of Education and Early Development

The Alaska State Board of Education and Early Development will hold a special board meeting on Monday, July 1, 2024, via audio conference. Public participation for the meeting will be through the digital platform Zoom. The board meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend this meeting by joining online through the digital platform Zoom or by joining via phone. The board will take public comment on agenda and non-agenda items starting at approximately 3:05p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024. Oral comment is limited to three minutes per person and five minutes per group. Public comment may be made for this meeting during this time only, in person or by joining the online Zoom meeting at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86182512348 or by calling 1-253-215-8782 (toll free) and selecting *9 on your phone’s keypad (Meeting ID 861 8251 2348). When public comment is over, the meeting will continue to be broadcast at the above website.

The purpose of the meeting is to hold a work session, business meeting and to hear public comment.

Topics at the work session include consideration for adoption the Broadband Assistance Grant (BAG) Program, a FY2025 Budget update and consideration of an executive session to obtain legal advice regarding the State of Alaska, DEED v. Alexander et al. case.

Topics at the business meeting will include consideration of whether the board will send amendments to 4 AAC 33.600-4 AAC 33.690 out for public comment. These regulations will impact the administration of the Broadband Assistance Grant (BAG) program.

The board may amend its published agenda. Agenda times are estimates only, and the board may consider agenda items out of order without amending its agenda. The board also reserves the right to adjourn at a time later than estimated on the published agenda.
