The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas (Division) received an application for a Land Use Permit from ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. (CPAI) on May 24, 2024, requesting authorization to conduct marine and ocean seabed characterization studies near Oliktok Point. The purpose of these studies is to facilitate safe and environmentally protective delivery of barges. Activities will include buoy installation, tide gauge installation, bathymetric surveys, and navigational hazard surveys. Details regarding these studies are described in the application.
