Notice of Application for State Air Quality Permit AQ1727MSS02 Harvest Alaska LLC, Liquefied Natural Gas Facility

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (Department) has made a preliminary decision to approve Harvest Alaska LNG, LLC’s application for Air Quality Control Minor Permit AQ1727MSS02 for the Liquefied Natural Gas Facility.

Location:   70°14’48.6” N, 148°34’4.1” W
                  Prudhoe Bay, Alaska

Activity:    Harvest Alaska LNG, LLC applied for a minor permit under 18 AAC 50.502(c)(1) and 50.508(6) to construct and operate the Liquefied Natural Gas Facility, a new stationary source.

Emissions:  The potential annual emissions of regulated air pollutants at the stationary source will not exceed: 118.3 tons of oxides of nitrogen; 232.3 tons of carbon monoxide; 11.2 tons of particulate matter; 55.1 tons of sulfur dioxide; and 30.0 tons of volatile organic compounds. The total annual potential emissions of regulated air pollutants are 446.9 tons.

Department Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, the Department drafted a preliminary permit decision for this project under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.

Opportunity for Public Participation: Any interested person may present written statements relevant to the preliminary decision within 30 days after the first publication date. The Department will consider all comments received and make any changes it finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or state law. The Department will issue a final decision to issue or deny the permit after the close of the public comment period.
