Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION & PUBLIC FACILITIES

PROJECT NAME: LAS 34842

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Cascade Point in Berners Bay, about 25 miles north of Juneau, Alaska.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 1, Township 37 South, Range 63 East, Copper River Meridian

   Section 32, Township 36 South, Range 63 East, Copper River Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: DOT is requesting to transport an excavator up to 20,000 lb. across state owned tidelands for the geotechnical drilling of lease site ADL 107152.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: January 2024
End: December 2024

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: May 8, 2024

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southeast Regional Land Office, 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
