The Alaska Sustainable Salmon Fund (AKSSF) has opened its 2024 call for proposals (CFP). The amount of funding available is not yet known, but may be up to $9 million, some of which may not require match. The following list provides an overview of CFP timing and requirements:
- Proposals must be submitted through our website (www.akssf.org/cfp); all required forms, templates, and reference documents are available there.
- The deadline for proposal submission is 12 p.m. (noon) Alaska Daylight Time on June 12, 2024.
- Most available funds will require a 35% nonfederal match, but ~$2 million may not require match; proposals with less than 35% match and matchless proposals may be submitted.
- Projects must directly relate to one or more of the AKSSF objectives (attached and found at www.akssf.org/cfp).
- Proposals submitted any time before 12 p.m. (noon) Alaska Daylight time on May 29, 2024, will undergo a courtesy administrative pre-review to identify any administrative issues (please utilize this even if your proposal is not yet finalized).
- Projects must be completed by November 30, 2027.
- Notification letters (i.e., funding decision letters) should be sent to applicants by late December 2024.
Please refer to the CFP instructions and frequently asked questions (FAQ) section at www.akssf.org for further guidance. AKSSF is offering a webinar on April 24 (9:00 – 10:30 a.m.) to discuss updates in match requirements and objectives and to help applicants understand the proposal development and project selection processes (please let me know if you wish to attend but cannot make this date). This workshop is a good opportunity to get your questions answered while learning how to avoid common proposal pitfalls. Contact Debbie Maas at debbie.maas@alaska.gov with questions.
