Southern, Northern, and Joint Southeast Regional Enhanced Salmon Planning Team Meeting.
Wednesday, April 10th, 9:00 a.m.
NSRAA Board Room
1308 Sawmill Creek Road, Sitka, Alaska
Virtual meeting option will be available.
The Southern, Northern and Joint Southeast Regional Planning Teams (RPTs) will hold their annual spring meetings concurrently at the above date and time. RPTs are a valuable part of the State of Alaska’s salmon fishery enhancement program. RPTs are advisory to the commissioner of Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G). RPTs are composed of six members, three are ADF&G staff appointed by the commissioner and three are fishery representatives appointed by the regional aquaculture association. RPT meetings are open to the public and public participation is encouraged.
The Northern Southeast RPT will review a hatchery permit application by Northern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association to operate a portion of Little Port Walter Hatchery, which is currently being operated by Armstrong Keta, Inc. This application is available at the ADF&G website (link below). The Southern RPT currently has no action items. The Joint RPT will review the current allocation of hatchery-produced salmon and make a recommendation to the commissioner. Discussion may include other topics concerning hatchery-produced salmon.
